The robot fight everybody has pictured — built for real. Custom humanoid machines, real damage, a live crowd and a cage.

The Fight

Not Wedges.
Not Spinners.
Fighters.

You already know what this looks like. Two machines under the lights, hands up, walking each other down. Sparks off the guard, a panel spinning away into the front row, one of them on the floor and the whole building on its feet waiting to see if it gets up.

Every film about fighting robots lands on that same image. So does every drawing on the back of a school notebook. It is one of the great crowd-pleasing spectacles nobody has ever actually staged — and it has been technically possible for about five years.

Combat robotics solved destruction three decades ago, and spinners do it beautifully. What nobody built is the fight. Two humanoids, standing up, throwing hands, taking visible damage, going down and getting back up. That is all MekaStrike is: one class of machine built to do exactly that, and a night built around it.

The First Event

MekaStrike Zero

September 2027  ·  Toronto  ·  Venue announced spring 2027

Seven fights across roughly two hours. Full weigh-in, full walkouts, one weight class. Free to watch on YouTube and Twitch, with every team streaming its own corner.

Six to eight machines, each built by a vetted builder and backed by sponsors, suppliers or a creator who has taken it on. Plus two house substitutes, so the card holds even if a machine does not.

How It Works

Builders Build.
We Go Find
the Funding.

MekaStrike is not pay-to-enter. Builders bring the engineering; the league does the work of getting their machines paid for — through sponsors and suppliers, and through creators who want to take on a robot of their own and bring their audience along for the build.

Builders

Engineers who have finished a machine of comparable complexity. Vetted by technical interview, then supported and funded through the build rather than charged for the privilege.

Creators

Take on a machine and make it yours — name it, brand it, stand in its corner. Your audience follows it from bare frame to fight night, and the corner stream is yours. We help you put the funding together; you get a robot with your name on it.

Pilots

Machines are joystick-driven, with the controller synchronising waist, shoulder and elbow into single strike primitives. Driving is its own discipline.

The League

Finds the money, writes the rulebook, supplies the safety-critical control electronics every machine runs, publishes the reference chassis free, and holds the safety line.

Robot Zero

The League's
Own Machine

Before asking anyone else to build an 80 kg humanoid, we are building one. Robot Zero is a Striker-class machine designed, documented and filmed in the open.

Its lower body becomes the Striker Reference Chassis — CAD, bill of materials with supplier links, build notes and known pitfalls, published free for any team that wants to skip the hardest subsystem.

Everything on this site about what a Striker machine can do is grounded in that build, not in a mood board.

Fight Night

More Than
Combat

A MekaStrike event is not a fight card with a queue outside. The pits are open, the machines are close enough to touch, and the people who built them are standing next to them explaining what broke.

That matters more than it sounds. Combat robotics has always converted people in person — you watch an 80 kg machine take a hit two metres away and something clicks. Half the builders in this sport started as somebody who wandered past a pit and asked a question.

So the room is built for that. Walk the pits between fights, meet the crews, get a photo with a machine that just fought, and leave wanting to build one.

Where We Are

The Road to Zero

Published so builders can judge whether the timeline is real before committing a year of their workshop to it.

  1. Robot Zero in Build

    Chassis fabrication, control integration and weapon-system iteration, filmed throughout. Rulebook v0.1 drafted across seven sections and published before the end of the year.

  2. Builder Applications Open

    Public call with a three-week window, technical interviews, and the Striker Reference Chassis published free. Creators who want a machine of their own come in at the same point.

  3. Teams Form

    Builders, creators and sponsors are matched into teams and contracted. Funding is confirmed, Control Packages ship, and every team starts building against a shared milestone schedule.

  4. Shakedown

    Every machine comes to Toronto for a private test day in the assembled cage — test fights, cage impact assessment, repair-turnaround rehearsal. Ten weeks before the event, while problems are still fixable.

  5. MekaStrike Zero

    Weigh-in, walkouts, seven fights. Free on YouTube and Twitch.
